Google seems to be adding a setting to “Google My Business” that allows companies to hide their phone numbers from being displayed in Google Maps and local Google search results.

The updated Google Help document says that you can now “hide phone numbers in your business profile.”
Stefan Somborac discovered this and he posted a screenshot on Twitter showing how it works in Google’s new editor (direct editing function), which is to switch your phone number to hide it locally In the Google business profile.
Business can now hide their phone number in GMB.

It does not appear to appear in the GMB dashboard.” Many companies may choose to use this feature, including those like Google who don’t want people call their company.
