Google offers several ways to verify your website using Google Search Console.
Jackson Lo asked on Twitter which method is his preferred method.
Unsurprisingly, most SEOs stated that they prefer DNS and HTML markup verification over other methods.
For me, I prefer DNS verification, mainly because domain attribute support in Search Console requires DNS record verification to prove ownership, unless the attribute is in a Google product (such as Blogger or Google Sites ).
However, without these tags, HTML tags are very simple for most SEOs.
In the past, I used to use the HTML file upload method, because for me, this is the simplest operation required by developers – hey, upload this file to the server for me.
The survey received more than 1,000 results, of which DNS verification accounted for 35%, HTML tags for 34.5%, HTML file uploads for 23.4%, and others for 7.2%.
